The Benefits of the Juice
Beets
Antioxidants present in beets help alleviate inflammation and oxidative stress. Betalains in beets support the liver's Phase 2 detoxification process. Drinking beet juice may prevent chronic conditions like hypertension and atherosclerosis (the hardening of blood vessels). Beets' nitrates convert to nitric oxide in the body, which relaxes and widens blood vessels, increasing the blood's capacity to transport oxygen.
Carrots
Carrots are an incredible root vegetable, rich in life-extending carotenes and minerals. Their high vitamin A content is particularly beneficial, improving eyesight and night vision, especially in those with a deficiency. Vitamin A also aids in preventing eye disorders such as age-related macular degeneration and cataracts. Additionally, carrots can help reduce cholesterol levels and relieve skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema, while boosting the respiratory system's ability to fend off infections.
Oranges
Oranges are rich in vitamin C, B vitamins, potassium, and flavonoids. These flavonoids may help alleviate chronic inflammation and prevent diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, dementia, and cancer. Additionally, nutrients like thiamine and folate found in oranges can aid in managing type 2 diabetes, enhancing digestion, and offering significant protection against cortical cataracts.
Ginger
Ginger serves as an excellent health-enhancing juice additive, offering cleansing benefits to the body and proving effective against colds and flu. It stimulates the lymphatic system, supports cardiovascular and respiratory health, assists in digestion, and alleviates gas, bloating, nausea, and gastrointestinal discomfort.
Beet juice is an excellent health-enhancing booster, known for its detoxifying effects on the body and its efficacy in fighting colds and flu. It activates the lymphatic system, supports cardiovascular and respiratory health, aids in digestion, and alleviates gas, bloating, nausea, and gastrointestinal discomfort.
Just a small note: beets are excellent for detoxifying the body—sometimes almost too effective. If you're new to juicing beets, begin with a small amount (perhaps a quarter to a third of a medium-sized beet) and gradually increase as your body adjusts. Should you notice a pink or reddish hue in your urine or stool, there's no need for concern—it's simply the beets doing their work.
Ingredients (serves 1-2):
- 5 large carrots
- 2 large beets, peeled
- 3 oranges, peeled
- 3 inches fresh ginger root
Method:
Process all the listed ingredients in a juicer, or if you prefer, blend them in a high-speed blender until you reach the desired consistency.
