Video: Florida Man ‘Nibbled’ By 13ft Alligator ‘Buddy’ While Taking A Dip
A video captured the chilling moment when Elvis, a 13ft alligator, bit John Braje’s shoulder. Being near animals can be rewarding, yet it's risky when they are large, strong, and potentially dangerous. Extra caution and skill are necessary to avoid mishaps.

Fortunately, when John Braje was swimming in the Miami lakes within the Florida Everglades alongside his friend, a 13ft alligator, and was nibbled by the predator, he knew the appropriate action to take.

The avid thrill-seeker disclosed that although it wasn't their first swim together, it was the first time Elvis, the alligator, had bitten him.

The incident was recorded on video, showing the alligator approaching Braje and biting his shoulder. Swiftly reacting, he leaped out of the water and was unscathed.

Braje posted the video on Facebook, detailing the encounter.

“SO, I got nibbled on by a 13 ft gator today,lol..🤣😂

Thinks just because he’s bigger than me, that he could bully me!!!🐊🐊🐊

Haha

No hard feelings though. He was just displaying dominance or maybe even just curious. IF he wanted a bite, I wouldn’t be on FB right now, lol..

He’s still my buddy & ill be back in with him soon..”

Following the initial surprise, some even made light of the situation, dubbing him the quintessential "Florida man."

Concerns were voiced by many, debating whether his actions were brave or foolish. Braje clarified that this wasn't his friend's first encounter:

"I've interacted with him plenty before. Perhaps he felt the need to assert dominance due to the crowd, but he's usually quite relaxed... If he had wanted to, he could've taken more. He's my buddy."
